WIRED FOR SAFETY

Our Mission

At Chewning + Wilmer, we believe that our employees are our most valuable asset. Our mission is to go above compliance, “Beyond the Numbers”, and strive to ensure everyone goes home at the end of the day the same way they came to work that morning. Our “Beyond the Numbers” program aims to change the way our employees view safety: from being only about compliance and getting our safety numbers to zero, to being about everyone going home to their families healthy, happy, and safe.

How is this Mission Achieved?

Chewning + Wilmer’s Health and Safety program focuses on communicating the inherent risks of electrical construction and training our employees how to identify and mitigate these risks. Some of the ways we do this are:

  • Regular Jobsite Inspections
  • Weekly Toolbox Talks
  • Up-to-Date Safety Training
  • Annual and Random Drug Testing
  • Employee Safety Council
  • Full Time Safety Division

Our Results

Chewning + Wilmer works nearly half a million work-hours each year and has maintained an Experience Modification Number (EMR) and Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) below industry average. We have also received safety awards and recognition from our Customers and Industry Partners, including the 2019 NECA Safety Excellence Award.
